android - Can a paid app be tested in alpha/beta for free -
I have thought a lot of questions about this, and all of them start saying that if the app is a Paid app, alpha And beta testers also have to pay to test it.
However, I hope that I have read 99% of the answers I have read since 2013 when alpha / beta testing came out for the first time, probably Google listened to people and Since then it changed it.
If not, what are my options? I see them as follows
- I think I can return people to my wallets, but this means that Google will keep 30%, so I have 30% for each of mine App Cost Tester
- I can email them all the APK, but in this way I will have to update it everywhere, instead the play store is for me. Besides, if I have too many testers Can be disturbed by sending many emails (unless I do a big BCC course)
- Can I somehow set two versions of the app in the store, which paid a free and one Goes free only Allow testers Nskrn, and then press to remove the app, and the final payment to Apike add. I think 3. is the best option, but more trouble than this I hope is a very common occurrence.
One way to note, who can I contact this question directly on Google? Anyone in the sports store team? How do you get an address for this ?!
I have the same problem and have been contacted by Google Support, the result was: If you have your testers If you want to give a free trial of the app, you will need to create a free clone of the paid app.

Question:
Is it possible to offer free add-ons for alpha / beta test users without making any free clones of the app?
Answer:
Thank you for contacting Google Play Developer Support about beta testing. Please note that once you have set the price of an application, you can change it at any time. However, once you have published an app for free, you can not change it at a later time. Currently, it means alpha and beta versions should be at least $ 0.99 if you want to charge for the app when it goes to production, the alpha / beta testers will be charged for this amount. We do this to prevent users who download free applications during the future updates or to prevent the licensing check failing while running the app.
If you want to sell an application that was previously published, you will need to upload a new APK and add a price. When you will not be able to upload the same package name again, you will be able to upload minor variations on the original package name. As an alternative, you can also apply in-app billing to your free app.
We hope this will help you answer your question. If we can help you further, please let us know.
Regards, ... Google Play Developer Support
Update: You can use the promo code so that the testers are free To get your payment app:
